We all put a massive amount of work into the cars we love so much. For the vast majority of us, we know how to get a rusty bolt to break free, how to crimp a wire to make it weatherproof, and how to weld a new patch into a rust spot that ate its way through a body panel.

Have you ever been driving down the street and pulled up to a red light when the guy who pulls up beside you motions you to roll down your window? Your first thought is “Do I have a low tire?” Then you roll your window down and the other guy (or better yet, the girl) tells you that you have a really cool truck and asks where you got your parts.

As the name implies, when you first walk into Jellybean Hotrods in Surrey, B.C., it’s like walking into a candy store for the car enthusiast. Of course, the shop is well-equipped with all the tools of the trade, but it’s the wide array of vehicles on display that gets one’s heart beating that much quicker.

What a difference a year makes. You may recall that when we last visited the home of the Fraser Valley’s favourite custom shop last year, they had been in business just over a year and had already doubled in size to over 7,000 square feet of shop space and six employees.
