Expanding HorizonsIt’s no secret that the last year and a half has been hard on the automotive industry. From the bankruptcies of the massive corporations such as Chrysler and GM, to local aftermarket companies shutting their doors for good, the entire industry got a wake-up call.
So, what’s that say about a company that not only survived the recession, but actually grew? Recessions are a good thing for the consumer; it weeds out the wannabes while allowing the good businesses, those with a passion for what they do and a good business sense to survive, to prosper and give the consumer quality service and product.
One such company is 360 Fabrication, based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. During the recession, 360 wasn’t cutting back; quite the opposite, they were building their business, adding more divisions to the company to give the hot rodder or custom car owner an all-in-one shop. Not only is 360 Fabrications the biggest builder in Western Canada, but they are growing, and constantly expanding by adding new services, staff and floor space.
360 Fabrication is already a well-known and trusted fabrication shop, collision service, and full custom glass shop. The fabrication shop has churned out some of Canada’s most popular hot rods and customs, while the collision and glass shops have earned the highest authority possible.
360’s latest ventures take them into the field of custom upholstery, and audio. They moved into the upholstery business out of necessity more than anything, as work they had farmed out was not coming back to the 360 standard. And so, a new division of 360 was born. Bringing in the expertise of Amy, the shop now has full creative and production control over all interiors that get put into all their cars. The new upholstery service has been so successful, 360 regularly has customers pulling cars into the shop from all over Western Canada.
Likewise, with the audio portion. If you are going to build the car of your dreams, you might as well put a kicking sound system in for those long cruises. The big audio installers just weren’t getting it done, and the risk of damage to expensive upholstery and paint meant another new in-house venture. With access to all the top names and brands, 360 can now finish off that custom with a sound that matches the quality of the car.
To house all these extra services, 360 has been slowly taking over the entire industrial complex that they are based in. Walking from one shop to another, you feel as though you’re entering another section of a very long ship. Everything has its place, and dedicated specialists can go to work, not worrying about another part of the shop. Now that they have everything in house, 360 has an advantage that no other shop can boast of. They can design, build and finish any vehicle a customer can dream up.
While all the different divisions are located in the same building, that also means that 360 can get your car out the door and on the road sooner and at a reduced price, a huge bonus to customers. With this also comes peace of mind to the customer, as the 360 crew knows how special that custom is to the owner. Your custom will be worked right beside several other high-priced customs owned by people with the same demands for a quality installation. So, you can trust that the bodywork, glass, upholstery and audio system will be done right, and not left in the care of a tech centre that tries to push product out the door.
With their newfound resources and space, you can be assured that the big projects are coming in. All are top secret at the moment, but expect some special vehicles to be coming out of 360 Fabrication’s doors in the very near future.
