Most would agree that the Dodge Challenger SRT is not only one the coolest-looking cars produced in the past decade but doesn’t sound too shabby either. So when Mopac Auto Supply in Langley gave us call to let us know they were doing an exhaust upgrade on this retro rod we couldn’t get there fast enough.
Why the Corsa kit for this application instead of another? Well, it seems three are a few reasons according to Service Manager, Erik Jensen. “What is really nice for the guy that has a daily driver is it has absolutely no drone. You and the wife can cruise along the highway and she won’t get on your back because it’s too loud, but when you go to wide open throttle it really shines as it has a beautiful sound out the back. It is a premium system, but as far as quality, fit ‘n finish, a lifetime warranty as well as being an all stainless product it’s got the best of everything so you really get what you pay for.” What is the price for this gorgeous sound? About $2,100 installed. Jensen also noted like many of the LX-type cars they install new systems on at Mopac you can expect an additional 15 horsepower to the back tires. Not bad, great sound and some extra ponies to boot. Technician Greg Zibauer agrees on the sound the Corsa makes. “I love the deep throaty sound it produces”. He also points out another great reason to install the system is that it “really looks cool”.
After hearing the system we couldn’t agree more.
