Nissan Unveils Project Basecamp Titan XD Pro-4X at Overland Expo

Nissan used the recent Overland Expo 2017 West to unveil its specially modified 2017 Titan XD Pro-4X called Project Basecamp. The truck was designed as a dream project for overlanding enthusiasts and started as a stock Titan XD featuring  the Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine, innovative bead features and full-feature 5-passenger interior. The truck boasts over 60 aftermarket parts and accessories from some of the leading manufacturers in the overlanding field creating a self-sustaining “basecamp” for exploring the backcountry. To start the transformation of the truck, a set of 35×12.50×17 tires were mounted on a set of 17-inch beadlock aluminum-alloy wheels to give some added capability, while a special 3-inch lift kit provides extra tire clearance at each corner. A long list of exterior modifications includes custom front and rear bumpers, fender flares and cab-length rock sliders, custom hood and light bar and chase lights. After that is where the overlander survival essentials were added to the build including a Leitner Designs Overland bed cage, Rhino Rack Pioneer rack system and Foxwing Awning, a CVT tent and vestibule, a Black Forest portable Fridge Freezer, water canisters and fuel packs from Daystar, and an emergency kit from ARB. Finishing off Project Basecamp is a custom Patriot X2 Off-Road Adventure Trailer with a matching vinyl wrap.
