All-New 2018 Ford Expedition FX4 Will Be Most Off-Road Capable Expedition Ever

The Ford Expedition is not traditionally a name synonymous with off-road capability, but when the all-new 2018 version launches with the optional FX4 Off-Road Package, that may just change. Firstly, the entire Expedition lineup will feature a new high-strength, aluminum-alloy body and redesigned high-strength steel frame that helps it shed up to 300 lbs. When the FX4 package is selected, the Expedition receives a number of off-road-oriented upgrades including a patented electronic limited-slip rear differential, off-road tuned shocks and all-terrain tires, all of which work together to allow the Expedition to greatly increase its off-road prowess. Additionally, the FX4 packages adds seven skid plates, 18-inch cast aluminum wheels, chrome running boards, and new rubber floor liners. In order to provide you with the best driving characteristics for a given driving situation, the Expediton features a Terrain Management system that lets users select from seven special drive modes including normal, sport, tow/haul, eco, grass/gravel/snow, and sand.
