Road Tests
Trail Rated: Jeep Trailhawk
With the vast majority of Jeep-related headlines these days focusing on the new Wrangler JL and the even-newer Gladiator mid-size pickup, it may be easy to forget that Jeep does offer other SUV options, which of course share in the brand’s off-road-capable mantra. In December of last year, Jeep decided to invite a small group of Canadian journalists out to the mecca of off-roading here in North America – Moab, Utah – in order to showcase just how capable the off-road versions of some of these other SUVs can be.

The 9-speed transmission receives new calibrations and programming for 2019 while a engine idle-stop system has also been added. Higher up models now feature continuously variable suspension dampers and a new, sporty A-Spec variant has been added.
Road Test: 2019 Honda Pilot Touring
The Honda Pilot was one of the first of its kind when it came out back in 2002 and has enjoyed a fair amount of success since then. Backed by Honda’s great reputation for value, economy and reliability it has continued its success into its now third generation first introduced in 2016.
Road Test: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss
The 2019 Silverado has been completely redesigned from the ground up and now offers eight trim levels along with six different engine and transmission combinations including a new 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine. Road Test: 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited
The Toyota Highlander is a fairly versatille vehicle as it is able to haul people and cargo in comfort, at an affordable price in a durable package. The Highlander has been around since 2001 and saw its most recent overhaul back in 2014 which provided us with a good looking, practical and safe SUV which will continue to show strongly in the mid-size class.
Road Test: 2018 Ford F-150 Diesel
Remember all the “military-grade aluminum” advertisements flooding various forms of media when the 13th generation Ford F-150 initially launched? That was only four years ago, and now Canada’s favourite truck is making the news again by introducing the long awaited diesel variant.
2019 Canadian Truck King Challenge
The 12th annual Canadian Truck King Challenge took place in the cold and rain of early October. Frankly, that’s the norm for our event. And while it makes for nasty driving, I always remind our judges that we are simply testing in the same conditions that Canadian truck owners encounter every day.
Road Test: 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel
The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel is perhaps the most distinctive model in the redesigned pickup’s lineup, boldly featuring a large vented hood, blacked-out fender-flares and an overall off-road-oriented appearance that really helps it stand out from the rest of its Ram brethren.
