Road Test: 2020 Ford Escape Titanium
The Ford Escape is brand new for 2020 and is now slightly longer, wider and lower than its predecessor as it enters its fourth generation. As before, the Escape is available in a wide variety of trims starting with the S and all the way up to the top-of-the-line Titanium model we had as a tester. A Hybrid version now rejoins the fold after a brief hiatus and Ford says a plug-in hybrid model is set to debut in the Spring.

While the popular line of Ram pickups could probably have gotten by without doing much for 2020, as they seem to be ticking all the right boxes these days, the manufacturer obviously understands this is a competitive market and in light of GM having released new versions of its Sierra and Silverado HD pickups, and with Ford about to do so right around the corner, Ram was loathe to sit idly by.

The new model features an all-new design both inside and out and a new powertrain that delivers more power and better fuel economy. This mid-sized cross-over fits nicely between Honda’s CR-V and Pilot offerings while sharing both their Pilot and Ridgeline’s same wheelbase. The Passport is 6 inches shorter than its larger 3 row Pilot sibling, and is really designed for those folks that don’t need to be hauling the entire kids team with them when they head up-country to test the vehicles light Off-Road capability. The exterior has a sturdy almost rugged looking appeal that presents well as the Off-Road AWD offering that Honda has brought to compete in the segment.
