British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) Launches Inquiry Into the Regulation of Electric Vehicle Charging Service

News has recently come down that the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) has established and independent inquiry into the regulation of electric vehicle (EV) charging service. Currently in B.C. the services provided by EV charging stations are in an early development stages. The press release from the BCUC stated that the inquiry will explore the potential regulatory issues, including the necessary level of regulation if any and the rates for EV charging service. BCUC urges members of the public to participate in the matter and have listed a number of ways it is possible to do so. These include submitting a letter of comment to share views and opinions, registering as an interested party, or become an intervener which is for those who wish to actively participate in the Inquiry and file evidence. BCUC says that they will provide additional information in the coming weeks regarding dates, times and locations for Community Input Sessions where members of the public can present to the Panel as part of this Inquiry. All documents related to the BCUC’s Inquiry can be viewed at this link: http://www.bcuc.com/ApplicationView.aspx?ApplicationId=613
