Ford Gives Fusion Sedan Upgrades for 2019 Model Year
Ford have announced details on the 2019 Fusion Sedan ahead of its New York Auto Show debut later this month, which includes some styling upgrades and the addition of the Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology. The Fusion will be the first vehicle to feature the technology globally, including it as standard on each and every model offered. Standard features with the Co-Pilot360 package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keeping system and a rear backup camera and auto high-beam lighting. Beyond the standard package (Co-Pilot360 Protect), Ford also offers the optional Assist package which adds voice activated navigation, SirusXM Traffic and Travel Link. Moving away from driver-assist technologies, Ford is now offering the SYNC 3 with 8-in. LCD touch screen as standard on Fusion SE and above models, which also sees a standard embedded 4G LTE modem added as well providing Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices. Additionally, SYNC 3 with the Ford+Alexa app offers access to Amazon’s Alexa functions including creating a shopping list or playing music. Also new for 2019 is a 20-percent increase in the electric-only range of the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid model, bringing the total range up to around 32km. Finally, the 2019 version of the Fusion will feature new front and rear styling including a new grille featuring a five-bar design finished in chrome or chrome mesh. A new truck lid panel, fog lamps and LED tail lamps are also offered as are two new wheel designs and fresh colour palettes inside and out.
