Ram to Increase Capability for 2019 ProMaster Van Lineup
Ram have announced that they have a number of updates for the 2019 ProMaster van lineup including increases in both payload capacity and towing capability and an updated exterior appearance. Both of the Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City vans will feature the redesign of the front fasciast which now will integrate the RAM grille theme that is carried over from the pickup line. In addition to the new grille, the ProMaster will also receive new black bumpers, side panels and optional steel wheels with polycarbonate side rear windows now becoming available on high roof models as are side rear windows with steel grates on the low roof models. The Ram ProMaster will also see three new models being added into the mix; a 2500 Cargo Van with a 136-in. wheelbase and a low roof, and high roof and low roof versions of the 3500 Cargo Van with the 136-in. wheelbase. As mentioned, the 2019 Ram ProMaster will also increase the payload as much as 109 kg (240 lbs.) which pushes the maximum to 2,123 kg or 4,680 lbs. which is the highest payload of any current Class 2 cargo van. The full-size ProMaster will also see a 30-percent increase in towing capacity bringing the total up to 3,084 kg or 6,800 lbs. To enhance the new towing weights, Ram will offer a new Trailer Tow Group which adds a Class IV receiver hitch with four-and seven-pin wiring harness. For upfitting, the Ram ProMaster includes a Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM) with 13 inputs and 41 outputs and provides upfitters quick and reliable connections to vehicle systems. Additionally, new optional interior LED lighting is 20 times brighter and offers integrated motion sensors for added convenience.
