Updated 2019 MINI 3 door, MINI 5 door and MINI Convertible Unveiled
MINI have released information and images for the 2019 MINI 3 door, MINI 5 door and MINI Convertible all of which receive appearance upgrades, new technology and additional customization options and an expansion of digital services.
The exterior receives quite a few new parts such as new headlights and taillights, a new MINI logo, and the addition of three new exterior paint colours and when the Piano Black Exterior is selected the surrounds of the headlights, rear lights and radiator grille are also finished in a high-gloss black to give that aggressive blacked out appearance. The selection of available light alloy wheels has also been expanded with some styles now being offered on all variants of the car and a new Rail Spoke 2-tone design.
On the interior side of things, the MINI 3 door and 5 door now include supple Malt Brown Chesterfield Leather upholstery while the addition of the new option MINI Yours Interior Style Piano Black with illumination comes with a backlit decorative panel on the passenger side of the dashboard, and also adds high-gloss Piano Black surfaces in the area of the doors and center console. Also inside will be a new, standard 6.5-in. display that features an updated and optimized user interface, Bluetooth mobile phone integration and support for Bluetooth audio streaming. Also offered is an optional 8.8-in. touchscreen navigation system with even greater expanded features and an optional wireless charging station for mobile phones.
In terms of technology, MINI Connected is now offering new functions and a diverse range of digital services that are unique in the small car segment. New features for 2019 include Advanced Real Time Traffic Information with 4G LTE connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Connected Services and intelligent emergency call. In addition the personal mobility assistant feature of the MINI Connected smartphone app now enables drivers of the new MINI’s to integrate their vehicle and mobility planning seamlessly into their daily digital routine. As an example, the MINI Connected system can see your calendar entries in your smartphone and plan a route while determining the best possible time to leave based on existing traffic data.
It’s no secret that MINI certainly set the bar when it comes to luxury in the small car segment, which is a notion that has only been furthered with the announcements for the 2019 examples. No current pricing information is yet available but MINI have said they will be announced closer to the Canadian market launch which is said to be April of this year.
