2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition Honours Legendary Motorsports Paint Scheme
The new 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning, American Gulf Oil-sponsored Ford GT40 by featuring what is probably auto racing’s most famous paint scheme – plus a few additional exclusive touches. The original 1968 race car is now known among enthusiasts as chassis No. 1075 and was just one of few individual cars to achieve repeat victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new Ford GT Heritage Edition will feature the No.9 graphics on the hood and doors plus a ghosted image on the interior door panels for 2019 while 202 will see No.6 used to honour the same car that went on to win the 1969 event with a different number. An optional package that includes exposed carbon fiber accents for both the interior and exterior are offered. The Heritage Edition cars will also feature exposed carbon fiber A-pillars and unique 20-in. one-piece forged aluminum wheels along with orange brake calipers and silver rearview mirror caps. Inside, ebony Alcantara wraps the seats, instrument panel, headliner and steering wheel while contrasting orange and blue stitching further accentuate the seats and steering wheel. As with previous heritage models, the new Ford GT Heritage Edition will feature a unique serialized identification plate, plus exposed matte carbon fiber door sills, air register pods and centre console.
