Volvo Unveils the All-New XC40 Luxury Compact SUV

Volvo have unveiled the all-new XC40, which is the company’s first entry into the compact luxury SUV segment. The XC40 will be the first model on the Volvo Cars’ new modular vehicle architecture platform which will underpin all other upcoming vehicles in the 40 Series which includes fully electric vehicles. Here in Canada, Volvo will offer the XC40 with the T5 variant with all-wheel drive which is equipped with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is paired to an 8-speed gearbox and pushes out 250 horsepower and 258 ft-lb. of torque. Other trims will be released for the XC40 throughout 2018 with the Momentum and R-Design trims becoming available in Spring and the Inscription trim coming in Summer. The XC40 offers a new approach when it comes to storage space inside the vehicle including things like functional storage space in the doors and under the seats, a special space for phones with inductive charging and a removable waste bin in the tunnel console. MSRP for the XC40 comes in a $39,500 with production set to begin in the 4th quarter of 2017.
