Lexus Introduces All-New Fifth-Generation LS Flagship Sedan
Lexus have officially introduced the all-new, fifth generation LS flagship sedan for 2018 which is has been completely redesigned both inside and out. On the outside, the LS features a sleek and bold design with a coupe-like silhouette that features the Lexus design language and is longer, lower, and wider than the outgoing model. The premium rear-wheel drive platform is an extended version of the one used for the new Lexus LC 500 coupe and offers a more dynamic driving experience. Inside of the new LS is an ultra-luxurious interior that features a new seat design that include available 28-way power adjustments and a choice of six colour schemes plus two for the F SPORT model. Additionally, the interior features high quality materials used throughout, a Remote Touch Interface with a 12.3-in. wide navigation display, an optional 24-in. colour heads-up display, and available rear Relaxation Seats with a warming function. Under the hood of the new LS is an all-new twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces an impressive 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque which is a significant increase from the outgoing model. The engine will be paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission which is the same one found in the LC 500 and uses wide bandwidth afforded by 1- closely spaced ratios which is ideal for all driving situations. In addition, the LS line will also offer a Hybrid version that features a new Multi Stage Hybrid System and utilizes two electric motors with a compact, lightweight lithium-ion battery. The new Lexus LS series are to go on sale in Canada by early next year.
