All-Electric Four-Door Porsche Set to Launch at the End of 2019

A recent CAR Magazine article has stated that the Porsche Mission E, which is an all-electric four-door sports car concept that debuted back at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, is slated for release by the end of 2019. CAR caught up with Porsche Chairman Oilver Blume at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show where he spilt the beans with more information regarding the Mission E. According to the article, the new vehicle is designed to fill the gap between the Panamera and 911 and will be offered only with electric powertrains. Different power output motors will be offered and the car will be priced similarly to the entry level Panamera which comes in at $97,300 here in Canada. One of the more impressive details to come out of the story was the fact that Porsche is claiming that an 80% charge will only take a quarter of an hour thanks to a new type of rapid-charge which will be enough for a 400km range with a full battery providing 500km of range. In terms of performance, it is reported that the Mission E will be able to go from 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds with an estimated top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph). We expect more details regarding the Mission E to emerge as we get closer to the expected 2019 release.
