Chevrolet Announces Plans to Reveal Next-Gen Silverado HD
Chevrolet has recently announced that the next-generation Silverado HD will debut next year as a 2020 model, joining the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 that is set to launch later this fall. The all-new Silverado HD has been specifically designed to suit the needs of heavy-duty truck owners and will see on-road testing of prototypes beginning in the near future. Chevy says they have increased durability and validation standards for this new HD truck and that it will feature bolder, larger proportions than the outgoing model. More product information will be provided next year with production models set to roll off the assembly lines in the third quarter of 2019. This announcement comes on the heels of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 which was introduced in January and, through the use of mixed material and advanced manufacturing, weighs less than the outgoing model by up to 450 lbs. As with likely all new trucks coming out, it can be expected that the new Silverado HD will also be lighter than the previous model with increased towing and payload capabilities. We will provide details on the all-new truck as they emerge over the next year or so.
