Chevrolet Volt Improves Charging Speed for 2019
Chevrolet have released details regarding the 2019 Chevrolet Volt which features a new 7.2 kW charging system which cuts recharging times nearly in half by adding about twice the all-electric driving range per hour of charge. This new systems headlines a number of additional enhancements for the 2019 Volt which includes the model’s first power driver’s seat. The new charging system can achieve a complete recharge in as little as 2.3 hours with a 240-volt outlet and supporting hardware and comes standard on the Volt Premier model and is available as an option on the LT trim. The new system perfectly complements the Volt’s extended-range electric propulsion system which sees a gas-powered generator to kick in to extend the driving range when the battery runs low. The 2019 Volt will also feature new Low and Regen on Demand profiles that enable increased regenerative braking capability when drivers let off the accelerator pedal. Also new for 2019 is a new Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with an 8-in. diagonal colour touchscreen, pedestrian alert system, digital rearview camera, wireless charge pad, and a new Pacific Blue Metallic exterior colour to name a few. The 2019 Chevrolet Volt is expected to go on sale this fall.
