Hellcat Powered 1972 AMC Javelin AMX Unveiled at SEMA Show

The Ringbrothers were part of another amazing vehicle unveiling, this time down at Prestone’s booth and the debut of the Hellcat-powered 1972 AMC Javelin AMX called Defiant!. Not unlike most of Ringbrothers builds, the car has been heavily modified to fit within their vision for the car. To fit in the aforementioned Hellcat-sourced 6.2L supercharged V8 engine, the guys had to move the wheels forward about 6.5-in. which is hid behind the flared bodywork made from carbon fiber. The engine features an upgraded Whipple Supercharger which pushes power output to an astonishing 1,030 horsepower which gets put to the rear wheels through a Bowler automatic transmission. A custom front subframe which was originally designed for a Camaro is used and holds modernized steering, sway bars and RideTech Suspension components. The rear of the car features a Chevrolet 12-bolt rear end which is mounted on a four-link suspension system designed by Ringbrothers. Also featured are six-piston Baer brakes and large 20-in. HRE wheels.
