Jeep Reveals the All-New 2019 Jeep Cherokee Mid-Size SUV

Jeep have officially unveiled the redesigned 2019 Cherokee mid-size SUV which has significantly changed its quirky exterior look and now features a more traditional look that is somewhat similar to the larger Jeep Compass and Grand Cherokee. The front end goes away from the split front lights and now features a more typical headlight design and the rear has seen a departure from the somewhat stubby taillight design which was previously featured. Inside features a few new materials and colours, but remains fairly close to the previous generation which is a good thing as it was practical and well laid out. The 2.4L Tigershark four-cylinder and 3.2L Pentastar V6 engines return, but the addition of a new 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque give the Cherokee lineup even more versatility and provides similar if not more power than the V6 but with the fuel efficiency closer to the four-banger. All engine options are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission which provides aggressive launches, smooth power at highway speeds and improved fuel economy versus a 6-speed transmission. Although the Cherokee will boast Jeep’s unmatched 4×4 capability with Active Drive Systems and the Trailhawk model, its on-road performance has also been significantly improved. Front independent suspension with MacPherson struts and rear independent multi-link suspension absorb bumps in the road, while the electronic power steering system improves fuel efficiency and contributes to the vehicle’s nimbleness. In terms of safety features, the Jeep Cherokee will offer more than 80 available safety and security features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning to name a few. Finally, the Jeep Cherokee will feature the new 4th generation Uconnect system that offers three different screen sizes and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
