Land Rover Unveils Discovery SVX in Frankfurt

Land Rover has recently revealed the Discovery SVX at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. The SVK adds all-terrain capability to the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) product triangle and is built on the fifth-generation Discovery’s strong and safe lightweight aluminum architecture. The SVX further adds to the Discovery’s versatility and will be offered exclusively with Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0L supercharged V8 engine that produces 518 horsepower and 461 lb-ft. of torque and is paired to a 8-speed Quickshift automatic transmission. Hydraulic Active Roll Control (H-ARC) is new on the Discovery SVX and provides increased wheel articulation and improved body control which enhances off-road traction and also reduces body roll for on-road driving. Also included is active centre and electronic rear locking differentials which work with the specially tuned Terrain Response 2 system to optimize traction on all surfaces. On the exterior side of things, the SVX utilizes a unique front and rear bumpers with protective skid plates to distinguish itself from the rest of the Discovery lineup. The Discovery SVX is expected to begin its hand-assembled production in the UK sometime in 2018.
