Mercedes-Benz Updates Top-Selling C-Class for 2019

Mercedes-Benz has announced that their top-selling model, the C-Class, is going to be receiving some upgrades for model year 2019. Starting with the exterior, the headlamps feature a new design and now come standard with high performance LED lighting with multibeam LED headlamps available. The front bumper feature a new design and now boasts a chrome-plated trim strip while the rear bumper on both the sedan and wagon  has also been redesigned with everything coming together to provide the C-Class with a sportier, more dynamic design. Inside of the new C-Class is an upscale, modern interior that has been accented by an elegant flowing trim, available in a new open-pore brown walnut or open pore anthracite oak material. The center console features 3D real wood veneer to give it a hand-crafted, modernized feel while new interior colours including Magma grey/black and saddle brown (exclusively for the AMG package) are also available. For 2019, the C-Class will adopt the display concept of the current S-Class which offers a fully digital instrument display with three different display styles including Classic, Sport and Progressive. The center-mounted multimedia screen is offered in two sizes; a 7-in. version that comes as standard or a 10.25-in. screen with high-resolution display in 16:9 widescreen format. Touch-sensitive controls in the steering wheel responds to swiping motions similar to those made on a smartphone to enable the driver to control many functions without having to take their hands off the steering wheel. In addition, the infotainment system can also be operated via the touchpad with COMAND controller in the centre console or using LINGUATRONIC voice control. As can be expected, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class features the full suite of the latest driving assistance systems and is able to drive semi-autonomously in certain situations. To do this, the car keeps a close eye on the traffic situation and utilizes improved camera and radar systems which allow it to see up to 500m ahead. The car is expected to be on display in Geneva next month and will go on sale sometime later this year.
