FCA Plans To Invest More Than $1 Billion Into Michigan Plant

It was announced today that FCA will invest more than $1 Billion to modernize their Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan in order to produce the next-generation Ram Heavy Duty Pickup, which will see its production location move there from Saltillo, Mexico by 2020. This investment comes in addition to the announcement made in January of 2017 which committed to spending a significant amount on the Warren Truck Assembly to extend the Jeep product line. The Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant will be repurposed to make future commercial vehicles. With the modernization of the plant, FCA will create more than 2,500 jobs to support the production of the upcoming heavy-duty truck. Investment news is not something new to FCA as they have invested nearly $10 billion in its U.S. manufacturing operations since June 2009.
