Ford Work Trucks Receive Performance and Service Improvements

Ford have recently announced they are updating their F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks which were completely redesigned back in 2016 and experienced there highest sales numbers since 1997. The trucks are available in straight-frame, kick-up frame Pro Loader and dedicated tractor models with Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab body styles. As mentioned, Ford have provided upgrades for these trucks for the 2018 model year which include electronic stability control and traction control brakes coming standard on all F-650 and F-750 tractor models and will initially be optional on F-750 diesel air-braked straight trucks. For applications with high electrical demands a high-output 240-amp alternator is now available with the 6.8L V10 gasoline powertrain and will be able to power auxiliary lights and equipment which eliminates the need for a second alternator or generator. For the 2018 diesel medium-duty trucks an optional automatic regeneration inhibitor is offered to give the operator more control over the engine goes into regeneration to clean the diesel particulate filter. Ordering for the Ford medium-duty trucks begin this summer with trucks arriving at dealerships in the fall.
