Mitsubishi Revives the Eclipse Name with the all-new Eclipse Cross CUV

Mitsubishi have announced that they will be bringing back the Eclipse name in the form of the all-new Eclipse Cross CUV. The announcement was made at the recent Los Angeles Auto Show, and Mitsubishi hopes the sporty driving characteristics and advanced technology that have been synonymous with their best-selling vehicle carry on into this new model. The Eclipse Cross features sharp, coupe-style looks and combines the practicality and dynamics of an SUV with Mitsubishi styling, technology and performance. The Eclipse Cross joins Mitsubishi’s formidable CUV lineup which already includes the RVR and Outlander. The CUV will have tons of new features including a 1.5L turbocharged engine that produces 152 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. of torque and is paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that features an 8-step Sport Mode function. Inside of the Eclipse Cross features a level of quality and refinement that has never been seen before in a Mitsubishi Motors vehicle. The driver-focused cockpit features high-quality materials and a 7-in. monitor which is used to control the Smartphone link Display Audio system and allows for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. In addition to the new engine, the Eclipse Cross features Mitsubishi’s patented Super All-Wheel Control which enhances straight-line stability and cornering performance by controlling the torque supplied to each of the four wheels. We will have more information on this, and much more from the L.A. Auto Show early next week.
