New for 2017: The Jaguar XE is a completely new model for 2017 and enters the crowded entry-luxury small sedans segment.

Segment Competitors: Alfa Romeo Giulia, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3-Series, Kia Stinger, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50, Cadillac ATS, Acura TLX, Lincoln MKZ, Volkswagen CC

The Skinny: The Jaguar XE is the British auto maker’s entry into a segment which is generally dominated by German manufacturers which should come as no surprise. It offers three different engine options, great overall looks, a comfortable interior, and is quite fun to drive.

Pros: Loved the way the vehicle looks and drives, plus was able to achieve amazing fuel efficiency due to our diesel powertrain.

Cons: Jaguar’s infotainment system can be somewhat difficult to get used to.

The Verdict: It appears that Jaguar is a somewhat underrated luxury car brand, but we believe that shouldn’t be the case. As was demonstrated by the XE, Jaguar have produced a car that closely mirrors the characteristics of some of its German competitors which is surely more than enough to warrant at least a look when looking for an entry luxury sedan.
