Nissan Adds Kicks Compact Crossover to Already Extensive SUV/CUV Lineup
Nissan have added yet another Crossover to their already extensive lineup with the unveiling of the 2018 Nissan Kicks which is made to replace the outgoing Juke and slide just behind the also fairly new Qashqai in terms of size. The new subcompact crossover is bigger than the Juke and features a completely new look, which is good news if you weren’t a fan of the quirky-looking Juke. The Kicks becomes the sixth member of the Nissan crossover and SUV lineup which includes Qashqai, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder and Armada. The Kicks features bold wheel arch fenders and a high stance plus design cues that are reminiscent of Nissan’s crossover design language including boomerang headlights and taillights and a floating roof. The Kicks will be available in five exterior colours plus five two-tone combinations. Inside of the Kicks features a “Gliding Wing” dashboard design with the main feature being a centrally mounted 7.0-in. full colour display which houses the infotainment system with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Kicks SR includes the new Bose Personal Plus sound system which features a pair of lightweight 2.5-in. Bose UltraNearfield neodymium speakers located inside the driver’s seat headrest. Only one engine options is offered for the new CUV which is the standard 1.6L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine which is rated at 125 horsepower and 115 lb.-ft. of torque paired to an Xtronic CVT transmission. Another strong point for the Kicks would be the available safety and security features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), RearView Monitor, Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The 2018 Nissan Kicks will be offered in three well-equipped models and will be on sale in the Spring of this year.
