Petro-Canada Lubricants and INDYCAR’s Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Announce Partnership Extension

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI) have announced a multi-year partnership extension with Verizon IndyCar team Schmidt Peterson Motorsports (SPM) which is the team that Canadian driver and Ontario native James Hinchcliffe drives for. In addition to the Petro-Can logo on both Hinchliffe’s No.5 Honda Indy Car and fellow Canadian teammate Robert Wickens’ No.6, PCLI are working closely with SPM engineers to integrate products to assist both on and off the track. Additionally, as the official lubricants sponsor of the Honda Indy Toronto – which is also Hinchcliffe and Wickens hometown as well as the location of PCLI’s head office – Hinchcliffe’s No.5 Honda will feature additional PCLI branding for that race. “We are excited to join our distributors and customers, as well as Indy fans in general, in cheering on James and the SPM team again in 2018,” said Mark A. Plake, president of PCLI. “With an aligned focus on innovation and excellence, we look forward to developing new technology opportunities with SPM that drive winning results.” The president of the SPM team had a similar sentiment saying, “We are thrilled to have Petro-Canada Lubricants extend and expand their relationship with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. It’s tremendous to be aligned with PCLI, who invest in innovation every day. We look forward to seeing what more we are able to accomplish together.” Both drivers and the entire SPM team will kick off the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season on March 11th in St.Petersburg, Florida.
