On October 18th a Los Angeles based company officially claimed the official Guinness Book of World Records title for the Longest Range of an Electric Vehicle by travelling more than 1600km on a single charge. The record breaking electric vehicle (EV) was built by IT Asset Partners (ITAP) and went the record breaking distance over a two day consecutive run at the Auto Club Speedway of California in Fontana which broke the previous record of 1,298 km made in Japan back in 2013. The record breaking EV was called The Phoenix and was created by ITAP leader Eric Lundgren and is made from 90% recycled parts and cost less than $14,000 to build. The purpose of The Phoenix is to showcase and demonstrate the amazing possibilities and potential derived from electronic waste recycling. Lundgren is known for innovating a national movement for individuals and businesses to utilize the process he developed called Hybrid Recycling. His client roster includes many Fortune 500 companies including Nintendo, Dell, Panasonic and more. In addition to creating a solution for the ever growing Electronic Waste issue, the Hybrid Recycling process decreases the demand for raw material production which conserves natural resources and reduces the carbon footprint.
