Telsa CEO Elon Musk Announces Tesla Semi-Truck and Pickup Truck Coming to Market Soon
In a recent series of tweets, Tesla Founder and CEO Elon Musk confirmed that a Tesla Semi truck was set to unveil in September with a pickup truck coming to market in the next 18 to 24 months. During Musk’s recent TED Talk he confirmed that the Semi would indeed be capable of long distance hauls which was somewhat in question due to the all-electric nature of the trucks drivetrain. He confirmed that the prototype of the truck is working and that he himself has even tested and claims that it handles and feels like a sports car. When asked to talk further about the Semi, Musk stated that Tesla is hoping to show that an electric truck can out-torque any diesel thanks to a flat torque RPM curve with an electric motor, whereas any internal combustion motor will have a much steeper curve. No further information has been obtained regarding the pickup truck other than a tweet from Musk in April stating that it would unveil in the next 1.5 to 2 years.
