Three CURT Group Companies Celebrating Significant Milestones

The 4th of July marks Independence Day south of the border in the USA and this year the CURT Group will have even more reason to celebrate. Three of the groups brands, CURT, Luverne and UWS are celebrating significant milestones in terms of longevity with CURT celebrating 25 years of manufacturing, UWS celebrating nearly 40 years, and Luverne historically hitting the 55 year mark.

CURT

CURT was originally founded by Curt Tambornino back in 1993 with the first products being trailer balls and ball mounts. The product line quickly expanded and today CURT manufacturers more than 1,000 different custom-fit hitch models offering a vehicle-specific fit for nearly every make and model on the road. Each of the products is made at the company’s headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and tested at the development facility in Wixom, Michigan.

UWS

UWS has been manufacturing truck tool boxes and storage chests in the United States since 1981 and have heavily expanded the product line over the years to now include liquid transfer cases, dog boxes, trailer boxes and other truck storage solutions.

Luverne

Luverne was originally founded by Bud Heck, Forest Jennings and “Doc” Martin in Luverne, Minnesota back in 1963 with the first product being a heavy-duty, painted steel bumper that was designed for pickup trucks in agricultural settings. In the 70s, Luverne’s warehouse footprint and distribution network began to expand to Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Montana and Utah with heavy-duty grille guards and running boards being added to the product line. During the 1980s, the company moved into their new 206,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Brandon, South Dakota while the 90s saw the company focus their attention to style by adding tubular grille guards and nerf bars. The company joined the CURT Group in 2016 which expanded production capabilities.
