Volkswagen Debuts All-New 2019 Arteon at Chicago Auto Show
Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new 2019 Arteon at the recent Chicago Auto Show. The car is based off of the award winning Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) architecture which allows for a more cab-backward design which gives the Arteon a different look than the outgoing CC model it replaces. The Arteon features a wheelbase 5-in. longer than the CC and offers shorter body overhangs for a more dynamic look. The wide, planted stance with a sloping rear roofline gives the car a true coupe, fastback type of look accented by standard LED headlights and taillights, a chrome grille and frameless side windows. Standard 18-in. alloy wheels come standard with 19-in. wheels being an option. Inside of the Arteon features premium materials and a trapezoidal design theme that gives it a modern and upscale type of feel. The sports heated front seats are standard while ventilated, massaging front seats come as an option. KESSY keyless access, push-button start, 3-zone Climatronic climate control, and an 8-in touchscreen with Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect technology that offers Apple CarPlay, Android Atuo and MirrorLink all come standard. Additionally the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit is also available which provides a reconfigurable display of key data and allows you to position navigation information front and centre. Under the hood of the Arteon will be Volkswagen’s classic 2.0L turbocharged and direct-injected TSI engine which pushes out 268 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque which is paired to an 8-speed auto transmission. All models offer 4Motion all-wheel drive while a standard DCC adaptive damping system comes standard. It should be noted that this information is all provided by Volkswagen of America as Canadian availability has not yet been announced. It’s a safe bet the Arteon will be offered here as well, but before official word comes we cannot be 100% sure. We will keep you posted as we know more.
