New for 2017: Not much changes for the Yukon Denali XL save for a low-speed emergency braking, ventilated seats rather than cooled, and head-up display coming standard with Denali trim.

The Skinny: The GMC Yukon Denali XL is a truly luxurious beast that is ideal for family-based weekend recreation as it has seating for up to 7 people comfortably and a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 lbs. In saying that, when behind the wheel it certainly feels like you’re driving a large truck rather than a refined SUV, but when you consider the sheer size of the XL it should come as no surprise.

Pros: Can comfortably seat seven adults even for a road trip and the entertainment options for the two rear rows is a nice touch. Should also be said that we are big fans of the overall exterior looks.

Cons: The size of the XL version can make big city driving a little more difficult than it should be. Also have to mention the dent it put in our wallets at the gas pump.

The Verdict: The Yukon XL Denali does a lot of things well and is a true picture of versatility. If you can afford to look past the price, it should be at the top of the list for buyers looking for a full-size SUV that can do it all and look good while doing so.
