Chevrolet Introduces All-New 2019 Blazer SUV

Chevrolet has decided to revive the Blazer nameplate and offer it as a mid-size SUV beginning in 2019. Slotting between the Equinox and larger Traverse, the new Blazer will feature a progressive design with a wide stance and athletic appearance. The SUV will feature a wide model range including everything from a sporty blacked out RS model all the way up to Premier models. It will feature five passenger seating with a large cargo space behind the second row and a driver-centric interior design that is designed to keep the driver focused on the road ahead. The standard powertrain option for the Blazer will be a 2.5 I-4 engine that is rated at 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque with an optional 3.6L V6 available that makes 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available. A standard Traction Select function is standard on all models and allows the driver to make adjustments to cater to the vehicle’s current road conditions. Additonally, on AWD models, the system will disconnect from the rear axle which allows drivers to opt for FWD when AWD is not necessary. The RS and Premier models offer a twin-clutch AWD technology that helps optimize traction for every condition. The new Blazer will also feature a number of technology and connectivity features including Hitch Guidance, Electronic-Locking glove box, comfort open windows, wireless charging, and six USB ports. The all-new Chevrolet Blazer will be available at Canadian dealerships beginning in early 2019 with additional details including pricing announced closer to production start.
