Mazda Releases More Information Including Pricing on Refreshed 2018 Mazda6
Following its official Canadian debut at the Canadian International AutoShow, Mazda Canada have released more information for the upcoming refreshed 2018 Mazda6. The Mazda6 will feature new and updated engine options and has dropped its old base model and added a new top-end trim. Pricing for the 2018 Mazda6 starts at $27,000 and now features the SKYACTIV-G 2.5L engine with cylinder deactivation which is the first of its kind on a four-cylinder in North America. The engine is paired exclusively with the SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission for a smooth driving experience. In addition to that engine, Mazda will now be offering a new SKYACTIV-G 2.5T with Dynamic Pressure Turbo that pushes out 227 horsepower on 87 octane gasoline and 250 horsepower when using 93 octane or better. In addition, the new engine will produce 310 lb.-ft. of torque from a low 2,000 rpm, has been named one of Ward’s 10 Best engines, and comes as an option on the Mazda6 GS-L mid-trim models and as standard starting with the GT model and the new Signature Series models. In addition to the upgrades under the hood, the Mazda6 features upgraded standard equipment including LED headlights, dual-zone climate controls, rear HVAC ventilation, a larger Mazda Connect screen plus a number of standard safety features. As previously mentioned, the Mazda6 boasts a new top-of-the-range model in the new Signature trim series which allows the Mazda6 to compete in a higher class then it has before. The new trim features Brown Nappa leather upholstery and Ultrasuede material on the lower dashboard and door panels inside and also boasts a Top View Monitor, digital meter set with 7-in. TFT display and front/rear parking sensors. The 2018 Mazda6 is expected to arrive at Canadian Mazda dealerships by the beginning of April.
